Initially Sparrow agreed, but when he realized that he was betraying the Wicked Wench, as well as himself, he rebelled and freed the slaves by taking them to Kerma for safe asylum.įurious that Sparrow had flouted his orders and stolen the "cargo" of "black gold", Beckett had Sparrow thrown into jail. Suspicious that Sparrow had indeed found the island and the treasure, but had not given him its accurate location, Beckett, determined to browbeat the captain into obedience, demanded that the young captain transport a cargo of slaves to the New World. Beckett had dispatched Sparrow on a mission to find the lost island of Kerma, and the treasure at the heart of its underground labyrinth, but Sparrow double-crossed the EITC official and claimed he couldn't locate the island. Hoping to recruit Sparrow as one of his many "operatives", Beckett indulged what he regarded as an odd peccadillo of Sparrow's until he and the captain came to part ways. Jack Sparrow captained the Wicked Wench for Cutler Beckett for about a year, hauling various cargoes, but he refused to haul slaves. (As detailed in the 2011 Disney Publishing novel, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Price of Freedom, written by A.C. Instead, they either bought or stole small, fast vessels, then retrofitted them with heavy armaments). At the time, Jack Sparrow was in the employ of the East India Trading Company and regained captaincy of the Wicked Wench (this fits in with reality as history notes that pirates did not build ships specifically to commit piracy. Years later, the Wicked Wench became registered to the East India Trading Company and owned by Cutler Beckett, the EITC Director for West Africa. The helmsman, Jack Sparrow, was granted captaincy of the Wicked Wench after out-maneuvering Salazar and saving the crew during battle. The Black Pearl was originally a merchant ship called Wicked Wench (the name of the ship from the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction at Disneyland Park, which is shown shelling a fort), but its crew later turned to piracy under the command of a pirate captain named Morgan, who was killed during a battle with Spanish Royal Navy Captain Armando Salazar. 2.5 Between the third and fourth installments.2.2 Between the first and second installments.Save before playing, but essentially as the A.I. So overall this guide should be a rough help to where to buy low and sell high. This is because certain settlements simply cannot build certain buildings. However, overall there are broad patterns, such as silver being found in the south and cocoa being found in the west, for example. My game will not be identical to yours, as which buildings a settlement starts with is random to a degree and differs from save to save, (these building affect how many resources a colony has to sell and thus how much they will charge). I have also drawn up what resources each group has a shortage of overal, and which it has in abundance.
If you see a price throughout this guide followed by it means in my game it was seen at the city numbered “1”: in this case Tampico.įor this guide I have recorded where (in my game) the best prices are achieved for each good globally, but also recorded locally who offers the best prices within the groups. I have grouped all the settlements into local clusters (A through K), and numbered the cities.
If you don’t want to risk the piratical high seas to sell your goods, or are at war with factions that prohibit you from going certain places on the map, trading locally can be useful. You can trade locally or globally in Carribean, depending on how far you intend to travel.
